Ronald Lee Adkins, 91, of Mulvane, Kansas, died Saturday, December 6, 2025. He was born November 14, 1934 to Basel and Hilda Adkins in Burden, KS.
Ron graduated from Burden High School in 1952. He graduated from Kansas State Teacher’s College in 1956. He received his Master’s Degree from Pittsburg State University. He married the love of his life on June 27, 1954. The family moved to Mulvane in 1964. He worked at Mulvane High School from 1964 until his retirement in 1996, as the guidance counselor. He loved travel, spending time with family and writing poetry.
Ron was an avid sports lover and enjoyed watching any and all sporting events, especially Mulvane and KU. He loved guiding high school students and made a positive impact on many Mulvane graduates. He served on many committees and sang in the choir at Mulvane United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; sisters Ramona Adkins, Anita Fox and Terri Anderson; and his mother and father.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Kevin) Cardwell; brother, George (Maureen) Adkins; granddaughters, Cara (Todd) Leeds and Amy (Landon) Branine; great grandchildren Anna, Hali, Adam and Lane; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family members.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Mulvane United Methodist Church, 107 S. Central, Mulvane, Kansas 67110.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the F.R.O.G. Diner at the Mulvane United Methodist Church.
