Ronald Benge Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 16, 2025.
Ronald (Ron) Benge was born on August 3, 1942, in Somers Point, New Jersey, to Helen and Howard Benge. A warm and generous spirit from the beginning, Ron grew into a man who valued service, connection, and the beauty of the world around him. He loved his childhood times in Ocean City, NJ.

Ron married Sandra (Sandy) Benge in 1970, and together they built a life rooted in family, respect, and adventure. They later settled in New Hope, MN, where they raised their two sons, Jason and Jonathan. Ron was also the proud father of two children from his first marriage, Amy and Peter.

A dedicated professional, Ron worked as an auditor for the USDA, bringing diligence and integrity to everything he did. His commitment to service extended beyond his career-he volunteered with the New Hope police reserves and was a lifelong Boy Scout leader, carrying the values of leadership, service, and preparedness throughout his life.

Ron loved camping, being in nature and teaching outdoors skills to young people. He had a remarkable gift for conversation and could talk with anyone, anywhere, turning strangers into friends with ease.

Ron faced his battle with cancer with strength and determination. He was a fighter every step of the way.

He'll be deeply missed and forever loved by his wife, Sandy; Sister: Linda (Gary) his children-Amy (Dave), Jonathan (Kelly) & Jason, grandchildren - Alex (Danielle), Hunter, Carter (Brooke), Jordan (Christy), Carly, great grandchildren Callie & Christopher and by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His big smile, humor, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Services will be scheduled in the Spring.
