Ronald Eugene Bennett, 73, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away on October 9, 2025. He was born on August 22, 1952, in Cuthbert, Georgia, to the late Stanford and Mary Helen Green Bennett, and grew up in Morris, Georgia. Ronald graduated from Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Georgia. He worked for Georgia Power Company as a Lineman for 43 years. Growing up, Ronald attended Union Methodist Church, and in recent years, he attended First Newark Baptist Church. A man of strong faith, he also participated in a weekly men's Bible study at the Boston Café with several friends.
Ronald treasured the time spent with his family and grandchildren. He closely followed sports, particularly cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Ronald also had a love for deer hunting and fishing in Carrabelle, Florida, as well as Lake Walter F George.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathryn Montfort Bennett, and their two children, Melinda Bennett Bryant (Mark) and Rodney Eugene Bennett (Melissa), both of Thomasville. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Ian Bryant (Sophie), Kealie Smoak (Lane), and Bryson Bennett, along with his great-grandson, Bennett Smoak. In addition, Ronald is survived by his brother, Lewis Bennett of Morris, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carolyn Wright.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home at 3 pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at https://themmrf.org/. Ronald will be laid to rest on Nebraska Street in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
