Ronald A. Braun Sr. of Marshfield passed away on February 24, 2023, at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Peggy) Braun. Ronald was born and raised in Jamaica Plain, parents were August and Hildegard Braun and sister Carol Daly – all deceased.
Ronald enlisted in the Army when he was 20 years old and served for 2 years. He had many jobs but his love of fishing led him to own his own Fishing & Tackle business. Ronald's happiest times were when he was commercial fishing with his son Ronny out of Harwich or bass fishing with his son Michael in Marshfield. He won many awards for the fish he caught.
In his later years, Ronald could always be found driving around with his labrador companion and meeting up with his group at McDonalds for a coffee.
He is survived by his wife Peggy of 62 years, his sons Ronny A. Braun Jr. and longtime companion Rose Wood of Dennis, Steven (deceased) and Michael J. Braun and wife Nancy of Marshfield, and the pride of his life his only grandchild Olivia J Braun of Marshfield, and several nieces and nephews.
We will miss him and pray that he is at peace.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. A memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, followed by interment in the Couch Cemetery, Union Street in Marshfield.
