Ronald Lynn Collins, 72, Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. He was born June 16, 1953 in Stockton, CA, and is survived by his wife Merynda, daughter Renee, Grandson Brandon, Sister Lapreal Miller, and nephew Kevin Wade. Ron was one of five siblings.

The Collins family lived in Los Angeles during his early years. Ron attended Libby Elementary, Enterprise Junior High, Verbum Dei Catholic School, and Compton High School. He joined the Coast guard after his graduation in 1971. He then attended Compton Junior College from 1973-1974. Ron later received a scholarship for the San Jose State University in 1974-1975. Ron went on to further his professional career and graduated with a business degree from the University of Phoenix. He loved playing football, and was Captain for three years with the semi-pro San Jose Tigers known as "Side the Head" #00, and then #99 Linebacker.

Ron lived in San Jose for 23 years. Jobs of success: The City of Sunnyvale Library, NOVA, Cisco Systems, and he joined Pacific Bell as a Maintenance Administrator. During the AT&T transition, the Collins family moved to Sacramento in 1996. Both Ron and Merynda worked for and retired from AT&T in 2010. Ron had top honors as a Service Representative.

Ron lived life, traveled, and went on cruises. He loved playing the Lions game at any casino. He loved movies, and was the #1 fan of the Raiders; he was also known as "Raider Ron." He was also the #1 Dodgers and Lakers fan.
