Ronald Collins Obituary

Published by King-Tears Mortuary, Inc. - Austin on May 5, 2014.
Ronald Martin Collins II, born January 7, 1981 in Austin, Texas, was the oldest son of Ronald and Carolyn Collins. He passed suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, May 5, 2014. Martin was baptized into Holy Cross Catholic Church as an infant and later received the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation. He became an altar boy and a member of the Junior Knights of Peter Claver and the Holy Cross Youth Group. In his formative years, he participated in the Boy Scouts, baseball, basketball and the Leadership Enrichment Arts Program (LEAP). He graduated from McNeil High School in 1999 and received his associate degree in accounting from National American University in 2013. He was employed at Flextronics at the time of his death. He had a passion for music and was a songwriter and performer. He recently landed an important role as a music consultant in a mini-series called "Street Stories" which is being filmed in Austin. It is set for release at the end of the month. Martin married the love of his life and soul mate, Kristina Martinez-Harris, on June 26, 2010. From this union was born Kiya Melissa Collins who became the joy of his life and source of great pride. Through the strong father-daughter connection and her bright mind, at five years old, she has accepted that her daddy is with Jesus. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Talferd Collins and maternal grandparents William and Lue Esther Page. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Kristina; daughter Kiya; step-children Alyssia, Domonic, and Underay Harris; beloved parents Ronald and Carolyn; brother and best friend Michael Collins; paternal grandmother Ella Collins: brother-in-law Archie and wife Heather; sister-in-law Crystal Yanez; father-in-law Hugo Martinez; mother-in-law Antoinette Fabian and husband Alex; and a host of relatives and friends.
