Ronald Lewis Cook ObituaryRonald Lewis Cook was born October 24, 1954, and passed away on February 13, 2025, at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Ronnie was the happiest when he was playing music. He started playing at the age of four, and professionally at the age of 12 with the Rocky Mountain Jamboree on KLAK Radio in Denver with his brothers, Gary and Donnie, and sister Patty. He played with the Barleen Country Music Dinner Theater and Flying W Chuckwagon. He has played all over the country, including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. He is the three-time Colorado State Flat Pick Guitar champion and placed in the top five at National, twice.
Ronnie was proud to be offered the title of Lifetime Honorary El Paso County Deputy Sheriff, and Honorary Commander of the 731 Air Lift Squadron at Peterson Air Force Base. The flag that was flown in Iraq is under his name.
Ronnie leaves behind his wife, Elaine; stepchildren, Sandra, Tammy, Edgar, and Richard; grandchildren, Chelsea, Dustin, Colten, and Danielle; great grandchildren, T.J. and Gwen; two brothers, Gary and Donnie; one sister, Patty; aunt, Joyce; three nieces, five nephews, and multiple cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, William Cook, and mother, Ardith Sexton Cook.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Please, arrive at 11:45 AM.
A reception will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the VFW Post 6461, 753 South Santa Fe Avenue, Fountain, Colorado. It will be a potluck so bring your best dish and help us celebrate Ronnie's life. Drinks and settings will be provided.
