Ronald Cornelius Obituary

Ronald Lee Cornelius, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Ronald Lee Cornelius was a man of many fields and many opinions. Ron grew up in the Gospel Kingdom Church and stayed there through his life, and through his passing. If he was unable to make it in person, he was viewing it on YouTube; which is what he did in the last years of his life. Through everything, his love of gospel music and bluegrass never strayed. Even though he was a bit brash in showing it, everyone knew how much he cherished his wife of over 25 years, Dianne; as well as his daughter, Amber. In his free time, Ron would call his friends and talk for hours about anything and everything that popped into his head. At any given moment, if he was able to get it, you'd never see him without some sweet treat of any kind. Ice Cream, cakes, cookies, and Reeses were all of his favorites. He also loved John Deere trackers, cars, trucks, and really anything else with a motor; though they were rarely finished, Ron also had projects around to tinker with. You would never see him without a hat on his head. Going through his large collection, he has more than likely 100 hats of all styles; cowboy hats, train hats, etc. We will love and miss him so much. We are truly happy that he is out of pain and strife. He was a stubborn man with a stubborn heart, who could never be changed.

He was born on February 22, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to Kingsford and Betty (Breeden) Cornelius. He is preceded in death by his Father, Kingsford Cornelius, Mother, Betty Jean Cornelius, Nephew, Benjamin Craig Mulligan, Niece, Paige Cornelius.

Ronald is survived by his loving Wife of 25 years, Dianne K. Cornelius, Daughter, Amber L. Cornelius, Siblings, Sheila (Walter) Adcock, Linda (Chris) Urbano, Pamela (Rick) Goff, Rebecca (Craig) Mulligan, Michael (Laura) Cornelius, Nephews, Christopher Urbano, Jr., Matthew Goff, Bronson Mulligan, Brice Cornelius, RJ Kilgore, as well as a host family and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm with the Memorial Service at 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Gospel Kingdom Church (5600 Cooper Chapel Rd. Louisville, KY 40229).
