Ronald Dooley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ingram Funeral Home - Marysville on Oct. 20, 2024.
Ronald G. Dooley, 81, of Rosedale, died Friday, October 18, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a short illness. He fought a hard fight, and gave it his best.
He was a 1961 graduate of Fairbanks High School. Following graduation, he worked at Ranco Controls in Plain City from 1961-2005, retiring after 43 years. Ron was a proud and honorable veteran of the US Army from 1967-1970, serving in the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Bamburg, Germany.
He was born September 18, 1943, in Mechanicsburg to the late Dewey and Zelda (Hayes) Dooley. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, David, Eugene, Fred, and Donald; a sister Darlene (Joe) Smith; four nephews, Wolfgang Courths, Devin Combs, Carl Runyan Jr., and Blake Gorton; and a niece Jessica Smith.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Monell "Nell" (Combs), whom he married April 6, 1963; sisters-in-law Rosella Dooley and Sue Dooley; special sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Leonard Daum; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Ron's greatest joy was spending time with his nieces and nephews, family vacations and playing games, especially paint ball, where he would come home and say Chase and Dakota ganged up on him. They were probably 9 at the time. He joined the Buckeye Keeshond Club after he lost his canine companion, Keisha. He enjoyed spending time at dog shows where he met many Keeshond owners whom he made lasting friendships with. He will be missed by many, and by his special canine, Daisy.
Visitation will be11am-12pm Friday October 25, 2024, at Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, where funeral services to celebrate Ron's life will begin promptly at 12 pm. Rev. Kenny Cordell will officiate, and burial will follow at Milford Center Cemetery where the Union County Honor Guard will provide full military honors. Pallbearers will be Larry Stover, Chase Grzeskowiak, Jeff Grzeskowiak, Jeff Combs, Mike Gorton, and Chad Copley with honorary pallbearers Edward Koerner, Leonard Daum, Steve Daum, and Ron Loveland.
Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve Ron's family, and condolences may be expressed to them at www.IngramFuneralService.com.
