Ronald Dubay Freeland, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Wellspring Lutheran Services. Age 85 years. The son of the late Sylvester and Mary (Hintz) Dubay, Ron was born on December 29, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. Ron graduated from Holy Rosary High School Class of 1957. He married Diane Szewczyk on October 22, 1960. She predeceased him on October 25, 2021. Ron served for two years in the United States Army. After being discharged, he returned to work for General Motors retiring after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Ron enjoyed being outdoors camping, fishing, and maintaining a meticulous yard. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.
Surviving are two sons, Michael D. and Judy Dubay, Hemlock; Patrick R. and Emily Dubay, Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jennifer Dubay, Brian (Carly) Dubay, Derrick Dubay and Mallory Dubay; two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Westyn; a brother, David (Darlene) Dubay; his sister-in-law, Vera Dubay; many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his siblings, James Dubay and Marianne Varacka.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 300 Johnson St., Freeland, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara will officiate. Honoring Mr. Dubay's wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
