Ronald Edwards Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Weeks' Enumclaw Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Ronald Ray Edwards, lovingly known as Ron and as "Ronnie" to those closest to him, passed away on December 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, loyalty, and quiet strength.

Ron was born on June 7, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. During his childhood, his family moved often as his father searched for a place to finally call home. That journey came to rest in 1962, when his father looked out at the majesty of Mount Rainier and declared, "This is home." The family settled in Enumclaw, Washington, a place that would forever hold deep meaning for Ron. In time, Ron built a life of his own in Auburn, Washington, where he raised his family and resided for more than 50 years.

A man of ambition and perseverance, Ron proudly served his country after being drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he began working for Weyerhaeuser, where he planted trees and contributed to the reforestation of our natural resources. During this time, Ron attended school at night, demonstrating remarkable determination as he worked toward earning his degree in Electrical Engineering. His dedication paid off, leading to a successful and respected career in the telecommunications industry. Throughout his life, Ron's strong work ethic was driven by his unwavering commitment to providing for his family, his greatest source of pride and purpose.

Ron was a man of many talents and interests. He had an insatiable curiosity and was an avid researcher, always eager to learn and understand the world around him. He also had a deep love for music, which brought him joy and comfort throughout his life. A gifted photographer, Ron captured countless family moments and the beauty of nature during his many fishing and boating trips. His loyalty was evident in every aspect of his life from his service to his country to his steadfast devotion to those he loved. Above all else, Ron's life revolved around his family, who remained his constant focus and greatest joy.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Janette Edwards; his daughter, Kris Fox (Dave); and his son, Kevin Edwards. He is also survived by his mother, Annabel Malidore, and his cherished grandchildren, Joshua and Emily Fox. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Edwards, and his brother, Gregory Edwards.

A memorial service honoring Ron's life will be held on January 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Weeks Funeral Home in Enumclaw. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memorial, with a luncheon reception at the VFW Hall afterward.

Ronald Ray Edwards will be remembered for his strength, integrity, curiosity, and enduring love. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to share memories and upload photos to his memorial page as a tribute to a life beautifully lived and a man profoundly loved.
