Ronald Joe Gilmer

Ronald “Ronnie” Gilmer, 86, of Graniteville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025.

A proud Navy veteran, Ronnie served his country with honor before returning home to South Carolina, where he built a life rooted in love, hard work, and devotion to family.

Ronnie was happiest outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, or simply taking in the quiet beauty of nature. His easygoing spirit, sense of humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Gilmer; his children, Scott Gilmer (Rebecca), Treena Webb (Brett), Randy Gilmer (Kim), and the apple of his eye, Dana Sharp (Dale); and his brother, Manly Gilmer. He was the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ruby Gilmer, and his siblings Billie Kitts, Rena Hillis, and Fred Gilmer.

Ronnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 14th at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Hayne Ave. The family will receive friends an hour prior at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
