Ronald G. Hahn, age 85, of Edgar, passed away peacefully at home surrounded with family love on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Ron, born on November 28, 1940, was the beloved son of Elmer and Viola (Weber) Hahn. He grew up grounded in family values that stayed with him throughout his life.
On June 5, 1964, Ron married Carolyn Landreth, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage marked by devotion, hard work, and commitment to family.
Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. Following his military service, he worked for Wisconsin Fuel & Light Company before beginning his teaching career at Edgar Elementary School, where he taught for 24 years. He was also active in the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), American Legion Post 393, Cub Scouts Pack 437, Boy Scout troop 458 (teaching several merit badges,) Cub Scouts Chuckwagon Skills Day, Central Wisconsin Antique Steam and Gas Engine Club, and many years with church involvement reflecting his strong belief in service, community, and mentorship.
Ron is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn, brothers Ken (Bev) Hahn, David Hahn, Harlan Hahn, and Tim (Dawn) Hahn; his children Deborah (Benjamin) Hoffman and Dustin (Amy) Hahn; and his grandchildren Bobbi (Alex) VanHandel, Benjamin (Brenda) Hoffman, Tyler Hoffman, Morgan Hahn, and Holly Hahn, along with four great-grandchildren Alek, Ana, Alarik and Amanda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Viola (Weber) Hahn; his daughter Nicholle Hahn; his brother Steven Hahn; and his sister-in-law Lois (Wenzel) Hahn.
A funeral service for Ron will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 119415 Huckleberry Road, Edgar, Wisconsin 54426, with Reverand Michael Mathey presiding. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM. Ron will be laid to rest following the service at St. John Lutheran Cemetery - Easton.
Ron will be remembered for his steady presence, dedication to family, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and integrity that will continue through those who knew and loved him. The family would like to extend a big Thank You to Aspirus Hospital, the rehab units he has been in over the past year, and Compassus Home Care and Hospice who have given their fine care and concern every step of the way.
Memorials will be shared with UW Transplant Clinic and Parkinson's Foundation.
