Ronald Hardwick, 83, of Fairland, IN, entered into his eternal home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
He was born on December 12, 1941 to Lillian (Rouse) Hardwick and Odis Hardwick, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by wife, Medna (Hittle) Hardwick and daughter, Angie McCreary.
He married Sharon (Shifflett-Mings) Hardwick on January 8, 2005, and she survives.
Other survivors include children: Steve (Cathy) Hardwick, Dave Hardwick, Angela (Rick) Crafton, Daniel (Ida) Hardwick, Dennis (MayAnn) Mings II, Michael (Megan) Mings, and son-in-law Rodney McCreary; grandchildren: Devan, Alison, Brittany, Jared, Emily, Grace, Grant, Melinda, Olivia, Sheena, Tana, Toby, Sundae, Summer, and Amelie; great grandchildren: Brantley, Avery, Kaylee, Riley, Sierra, Jaxon, Jeri, Gracie, Josie, Amaya, Preston, and Tilly; brother: Ken Hardwick; nieces: Anne Hardwick and Kristen Kendrick; nephew: Bill Hardwick, and many more nieces and nephews through marriage.
Ron graduated from Triton Central High School and attended Franklin College. He also earned a certificate of ordination through Hancock Reformed Baptist Bible College. He operated Hardwick Insurance for many years. Then he was a senior regional manager with Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company through retirement. Ron served his community in various ways including as a volunteer firefighter, a county councilman at-large, a reserve sheriff's deputy, and an emergency dispatcher. Ron was currently a member and elder of the Fairland Baptist Church. He had a variety of hobbies and took great interest in his children and grandchildren's activities. Ron was also a loving, devoted husband. As a faithful Christian servant, Ron shared the Gospel through as many opportunities as possible.
A visitation will be from 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025 until the service at 2:00 pm at the Fairland Baptist Church,102 South Meridian Street, with Pastor Joe Miller officiating. Following the service, there will be a gathering in the church fellowship hall.
Burial will be held at the Fairland Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairland Baptist Church.

Ron was a wonderful man who I've known most of my life. I was a babysitter for his three babies, he worked with my dad, Bob Barger. I saw him about a year ago when he attended my mom's memorial service. May your memories give you comfort during this time. Thinking of you all during your time of grief.
