Ron was a great guy...always pleasant to work with and he always had a joke. We had neighboring offices at SVC and he always could make me laugh.

Ron Hartje was a great friend and long time associate in the early years at Sauk Valley College. As business division chairman I am proud that I recommended Ron to be hired as an accounting teacher and got to know his wife Marlene and children so our blessings extend to the family he was a gentleman and a wonderful guy.

Ron was my first accounting teacher at SVCC. He taught things simply and carefully...for all to understand. He told me once to really study the chapters on payroll, as I might be doing his paycheck in the future.(I worked in the Business Office).

Coach Harte was my baseball coach from 1975-76 at Sauk valley college. One of many memories was we could not end practice until he hit a home run over the fence. Things did not change as coach enjoyed playing in an annual reunion of players at the Thomson melon days celebration double elimination softball tournament. Even we'll into his 70's Ron was known as a home run threat. He would often ask if I needed him to hit it over the fence or a base hit? His golf game was also full of confidence and competitive attitude. Thanks for all the memories coach!!Kzskw

I was a co -worker with Ron at SaukValley College. I also knew his wife, Marlene , since we grew up in Dixon I'm the same neighborhood. Ron was a great teacher and a good friend. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed.
