Ronald Earl Hicks, 71, passed away on August 22, 2025, at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born on January 29, 1954, in Georgia to Charles Coston and Hilda Hicks.

Ron graduated from Vailsburg High School in Newark, NJ.

He worked for the State of Kansas Department of Corrections and retired after 27years as a unit team supervisor. On September 8, 1990, Ron married Cynthia E. Roberts in Hutchinson, KS.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Ron is survived by his wife, Cynthia; sons, Jeremiah D. Hicks and Ronald C. Hicks; grandchildren, Kamari and Symere Hicks; in-laws, Carmon Roberts; Jeffrey and Katherine Roberts, Kenny and Jodi Roberts, Wetona Tolson, Dellis and Rev Leroy Neal and Kirk Roberts; fur babies, Dudley, Scribbles and Zeus; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Per Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS.
