Ronald Franklin Kliewer, 79, of Amarillo, died Friday, September 17, 2021.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Ronald was born on January 3, 1942 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Alviana and Frank Kliewer. He took piano lessons and performed in a couple of recitals. Mrs. Cotney taught him. After high school he joined the navy where he served for four and half years and traveled to over 30 countries. He then went to work in the oil field. Following the oil field industry, he drove a truck for Jack B. Kelly, and then Permian Trucking. After being an over-the-road truck driver, he became the accountant for Hardee's where he really enjoyed working 9 to 5. He enjoyed being a day trader in the stock market.

He met Nancy Mills at the Silver Slipper in Woodward. He never dated a woman that he didn't meet on the dance floor. They married and made their home in Follett. They lived there for 18 years before moving to Padre Island. He moved to Amarillo in 1994 and really liked living there. He loved the people and things to do.

He had been a member of the Amarillo Area Singles Dance Club since 1994 and a member Alcoholics Anonymous for 30 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Kenna Howard and husband Devin, of Wheeler, Texas; son, James Kliewer of Garden City, Kansas; sister, Charlene Worrell and husband Gene of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren, Cody, Kori, Curtis, Chase, Corbin, Jolee, and Tori.
