Ronald Kroemer Obituary

Ronald John "Ron" Kroemer, 77, of Fremont, passed away on January 10, 2025, unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 10, 2025. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN, on June 1, 1947, to John and Virginia (Arend) Kroemer. On May 20, 1966, he married the love of his life, Susan M. (Wait) Kroemer. Ron dedicated 40 years of his life to General Electric, where he worked as the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at the Taylor, Winter, and Broadway plants. Known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and people skills, Ron was a reliable and dedicated leader. He made it a point to connect with everyone, regardless of their role, and treated all with respect and value. His ability to solve problems and his steadfast commitment to his work earned him the admiration of his colleagues. In 2005 he retired to their lake home, where he enjoyed a well-deserved rest and evening boat floats with his honey watching the gold coast. At home, Ron's love for tinkering and fixing things shone through. He often put his engineering skills to good use, whether on projects around the house or helping others. Over the years, he and his family expanded their lake home, with every addition designed and crafted by him. Ron's hands-on approach extended beyond woodworking-he loved golfing, playing cards with good friends, and challenging himself with crossword puzzles and sudoku. He was always quick to Google something or ask Alexa for help with a new question. With his meticulous nature and love of his wife, he chose to completely domesticate himself to support and care for his honey bunch at home. He cleaned, cooked meals, did laundry and called his kids when he was not sure about something. He mastered online grocery shopping like a champ and loved sending his kids texts of the meals he created for them with a glass of wine on the side.

Family visits brought Ron immense joy, especially when his grandchildren and great- grandchildren left their handprints on the sliding door. He cherished these moments, seeing them as a reminder that his home was filled with love and not empty. He took great pleasure in entertaining and making sure everyone felt welcome and comfortable. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Susan; his children Laurie (James) Alifimoff, Jeffrey (Hollie) Kroemer, Anne (William) Williams, Nicholas (Angela) Kroemer; and his cousin, more like a son, Mark (Kris) Kroemer and his grandchildren Bethany (Michael) Bessesen, Jonathan (Ciara Welch) McCullers, Sarah Kroemer, Ryan Kroemer, Ian Kroemer, Olivia Williams, Cody Kroemer, and Jase Kroemer. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Maria, Abigail, Dominic Bessesen, Levi Kroemer, Kaiden, Dakota, and Sareya Welch. Ron is further survived by his siblings: Janis Hyman, Linda (Chuck) Hawley, Jerry (Janet) Kroemer, MaryLynn (Scott) Hamrick, and brother-in-law Bill Millar. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Kroemer, and his siblings John Kroemer and Sharon Millar, Allan Hyman (brother-in-law), Donald E. Wait (father-in- law), Fern E. Wait (mother-in-law). The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00pm -6:00pm, Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748. Everyone loved Ron Rest In Peace Ron I worked with him at GE and then was almost a neighbor on Jimmerson. He would launch the boat next to our house and he was always watching to see us It is so hard to believe he has left us but God definitely welcomed him with opened arms.

We still don't believe that Mr. Kroemer is gone. Jimmerson Lake will for sure never be the same without him. He was helping everybody and especially our family. We will miss him and we pray to God that he welcomes him to his kingdom and send an angel to watch over Sue. Condolences Walt/Enza/Alex/Ruth.
