Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crowder Funeral Home - Dickinson on Feb. 3, 2026.
Ronald Otto Maas, 85, passed away on January 22, 2026 in Houston, Texas. He was born in LaSalle, Illinois on March 6, 1940, to Anne and Otto Maas. Ron graduated from high school in 1958 and joined the Navy that same year and travelled the world. He got out in 1962 and married Pauline the same year and had Joseph in 1963. After a trip to Texas in 1977, he decided to take a chance on life and determined we were going to move to Houston and waited until Joe got out of high school in 1981. Ron worked for Harris County Flood Control from 1983 to 2003 and then retired. He worked part time for a civil inspection company until 2014 until he could not work anymore. He and Pauline enjoyed their final years together until she passed away. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, work, travel, play golf, go fishing, and go to church.

A church service will be held Friday, March 6, 2026 at10:30am at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, Texas. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas at a later date.
