Ronald (Ron) Richard Mase 80 of Denver, Colorado passed away June 1st. 2025. He was born January 18th. 1945 in Derry, Pennsylvania to Frank A. Mase Sr. and Maria “Kunsie” (D’Orazio) Mase.
Ron grew up in schools in Derry. After high school Ron served in the United States Army as a Military Police. He served in the Vietnam War. After the Army he worked in Cosmology as a manager for 3 Salons for eight years. He worked for the State of Colorado. First in Public Safety and Transportation, and then as an Accountant for 25 years until his retirement.
Ron loved fishing, camping, gardening, playing cards and board games, and watching Smack Down (WWE) Wrestling.
He had a great love for animals especially his pet cats and dogs over the years. Which made him very happy. Ron especially loved all Holidays. He had a knack especially for creating and decorating for Halloween and Christmas, which were amazing. There was one time that Ron’s Halloween decorations caused an accident from on lookers because of his unique display. He belonged to the American Legion.
Ron met his soulmate and love of his life, Vincent Praus and were together for 34 years until his passing. It was love at first sight for them. They were two peas in a pod, always together, never left each other’s side or a dull moment.
Ron is survived by his husband, Vincent Praus, many wonderful nephews and nieces on both sides, as well as brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother’s, Joseph, Lawrence, Frank Mase. His sister’s, Agnes Waldron, Christina Torochio, Julia Kish, Marie Ponderendolph, Dalgesa (Dale) Klesyk.
Visitation will take place June 19th 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with Rosary at 9:30 am to 10:00 am. A mass service will be held at 10:00 am on the same day at St. Dominic Catholic Church at 2905 Federal Blvd. Denver, Colorado 80211. Phone number is 303-455-3613.
Flower delivery at the church, if possible please deliver between 8:30 am and 10:00 am.
