Ronald William Mayle

RONALD WILLIAM MAYLE 1950 - 2015 Ronald William Mayle age 65 of Richmond, CA, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015. Ron was born on August 1, 1950 to William Byron and Geraldine Mary (Maasen) Mayle at the Offutt Air Force Base Hospital in Bellevue, NE. Ron was a 1968 Graduate of Plattsmouth High School, Valedictorian of his class. He also served as Junior Class President. Ron excelled in math and science. He received a Regents Scholarship to the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Ron attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, receiving a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Masters of Electrical Engineering degrees. Ron attended the University of California – Berkeley, receiving his Doctorate of Philosophy in Physics in 1985. Ron was employed by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA and the University of California – Berkeley. Ron was an accomplished pianist, avid astronomer and tropical fish enthusiast. He held a special place in his heart for his nephew and niece through his interest in their education. Ron was dearly loved by all of his family. He is survived by his brother: Douglas P. Mayle and wife Carrie D. (Nelson) Mayle of Lee's Summit, MO; nephew: William D. Mayle of Lee's Summit, MO; niece: Kristin M. (Mayle) Rae of New York City, NY, numerous cousins, and many friends. Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents: Herman L. and Clara A. Maasen formerly of Plattsmouth, NE and parents: William and Geraldine Mayle formerly of Lee's Summit, MO. A Private Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 6, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth.
