Ronald Moore Obituary

Ronald Dean Moore, 71, of Palatka passed from his earthly body to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka following an extended illness.
Born in St. Augustine on September 6, 1954, to Walter Winston "Winky" Moore and Alma Irene Barber Moore, Ron had been a lifelong resident of Palatka. He worked faithfully with his father and family for over 50 years at Moore's Well Drilling, Inc. Ron first started helping his father on a drilling rig when he was just 9 years old. He wanted to drill wells on his own sooner, but his dad told him he wasn't ready. After he took over the business, he was very successful drilling wells and installing water purification systems throughout Putnam County.
Ron lived a full life filled with adventures and travels. He loved the Lord with all his heart and would share the love of Jesus to anyone who would listen. Ron was a longtime member of Peniel Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and founding member of the Faith Riders motorcycle group.
In his leisure time, when not riding motorcycles, he enjoyed fishing at his beach house and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Winston "Winky" Moore; sisters-in-law, Martha Johns Brown and Cynthia "Cindy" Johns Luke; and mother and father-in-law, Williard and Annie Mae Johns.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Sue Johns Moore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tabatha Dawn Westberry (Chris) and Katie Marie Davis (Chris); grandsons, Branson Dean Moore and Benjamin Conaway Davis, who were the joys of his life. Other survivors include his mother, Alma Irene Barbara Moore; a sister and brother-in-law, Myra Griffin (Frank) and their children, Jamie, Jim, Kelly, and Karen; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony Winston Moore (Martha) and their children, A. J. and Natasha; sister-in-law, Sarah Roseann Selph and her children, Susie, Beth, and Alicia; brother-in-law, Lonnie Johns, his wife Cindy "Sissy," and their children, Mathew, Dustin, and Hannah; brother-in-law, William Brown and his daughter and grandsons, Lorrie Brown, Jason, and Justin; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Peniel Baptist Church with Pastor Benny Reynolds officiating assisted by Pastor Etni Prieto.
Friends are invited to call at the church after 10 a.m. -an hour before the start of the service. Interment will follow in Peniel Cemetery.
