Ronald Nappi Obituary

Ronald Nappi

August 30, 1941 - February 26, 2024

Beaufort, South Carolina - Ronald Nappi, born on August 30, 1941 in Derby, CT, passed away on February 26, 2024 at the age of 82. Survived by his wife of 50 years Trudy; brothers Frank and Kenneth; children Melina and Nick and their spouses Chris and Jill; and grandchildren Keegan, Griffin, Cassidy, Cameron, and Kaylee.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather (affectionately called 'Poppi') – he was proud of his Italian-American heritage and his service as Captain in the U.S. Air Force as a B52 Navigator during the Vietnam War. Ron became a psychologist - a natural 'people person' who could talk to anyone and gave back to his community by managing mental healthcare at clinics and in his private practice.

He will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, sense of humor, and voracity for life.

A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Friday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church 70 Lady's Island Drive, Beaufort, SC 29907. For more details visit: www.andersonfhsc.com

Such a great guy! Used to come and have a pizza at the shop I worked in as well as chatted and shred his wisdom with me. We all liked him a lot! My condolences to the family.

Ron created the annual NappiFest as a way to celebrate his Italian heritage while simultaneously bringing together friends both new and old. Once a year we would gather, first at Ron's apartment, and then at Ron's and Trudy's homes. Over the years, the guest list changed, but a few of us were there for all 30+ of them. The food was always delicious, but the highlight of the night was the "show" that Ron and Trudy would put on. There was always a theme, and they would don costumes and act out a funny script that portrayed the theme. How they came up with so many different ideas, I don't know, but it was amazing! It was a wonderful evening and we all became friends because of Ron and Ron and Trudy. As they got older, Melina and Nick and eventually their partners, joined in. It was an example of Ron's desire and ability to connect and grow and preserve his relationships with the people he loved. I know we all treasure those memories.
