Mr. Ronald Eric "Pete" Patterson, Sr., age 83, of Gloversville, passed away on January 26, 2026, at Saratoga Hospital after a long battle with health issues.

He was born on March 11, 1942, in Gloversville, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Dora Perham Patterson. He was a graduate of Gloversville High School, Class of 1960. Pete began working at the age of 14 at Bowman's Market in Gloversville, where he worked for many years. He was later employed by Wood & Hyde Leather in Gloversville as a leather grader for 48½ years, retiring in 2016.

Pete enjoyed cooking, gardening, TikTok, Yankees baseball, New York Giants football, and NASCAR. Above all, he especially loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Linda Patterson; his sons, Ronald Patterson Jr. (Lori) and James Patterson; his grandchildren, Megan (Dalvia) and Braden Patterson; his sister, Darla Rowley; his brothers, Greg Patterson (Billie) and Eric Patterson (Andrea); and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Patterson Sr. and Dora Patterson; his sister, Dr. Dawn Patterson; his brother, Robert Patterson Jr. (Gail); his sisters, Stephanie Delsignore, Deborah Baird (Dick), and Michelle Iorio; and his dear friends, Bud and Paula Sturgess.

The family will receive relatives and friends two hours prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7th, at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating.

Interment will take place in the spring at Ferndale Cemetery in Johnstown.

Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or Mountain Valley Hospice through the Mountain Valley Hospice Donation Portal at www.mvhcares.org/donate.
