Was shocked to hear about Ron"s passing. We have been close friends for over 50 years. I 1st met Ron in Oct of 1967 in the Mess hall of USARVN (Viet Nam) and we became close friends. When he was discharged from the Army one of his first trips was to visit me in Dearborn Mi and later that year Teri and I visited him in Portsmouth NH. Over the years we would visit each other in our Home towns (Me in Michigan and Ron in Wisconsin). Many times Ron's job would take him to Michigan and we would spend times talking about Viet Nam and our families. We both have a lot of stories to tell about our tour in Nam. After my retirement I moved to Bonita Springs Florida and I often asked Ron to come and visit me and he told me about Mary's sickness. After her passing I told Ron it would help him mentally to come and visit me and he finally accepted my invitation. He really loved it here in Florida and every year he would come down for a 3 week visit. We would start each day with a 3 mile walk before I dragged him to my softball games. Of course we had to get tickets to the Red Sox spring training games. I keep looking in my pool expecting to see Ron sleeping on a float. Going to miss ya big guy !!
