MILAN-Ronald W. Pittard, 85, Milan, IL passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at UnityPoint-Trinity Hospital Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM on Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Funeral service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Memorials preferred to the American Diabetes Association.

Ron was born on September 26, 1937 to LaVerne and Dorothy (Winifred) Pittard in Galesburg, IL. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1959. Ron served in the reserves for the National Guard for several years.
On June 4, 1960 he was united in marriage to Ellen Wood in Milan. The couple made their home in Milan where they raised their two sons.

Ron worked for JD Plow and Planter as a Bar Shear Operator for over 39 years until retiring in 1996.

Ron was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and where he was involved in the Usher Ministry. He was also involved in the United Methodist Men's Club in Milan. Ron's hobbies included fishing, woodworking, and meeting friends for coffee. Ron was active with the Rock Island Conservation Club as well as the Illinois City Fin, Fur, and Feather Conservation Club. He served the Milan Little League for 20 years. Ron loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his sons, Lonnie (Lisa) Pittard and Corey Pittard; grandchildren, Andrew (Susie) Pittard and Mary Beth (Jeff Hohenboken) Pittard; great-grandchildren, Savanna and Waylon Pittard and Ella Hohenboken; and brother, Larry Pittard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ellen; daughter, Rhonda Pittard; infant son, Roland Pittard; brothers, Richard, David, and Paul Gene Pittard.
