Ronald Russell Robertson, age 79 of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away on February 23, 2026 with his family by his side. He was born on May 3, 1946 in Williamsport, Indiana to Arnold R. and Emma Louise Robertson.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Elaine, children Duane (Amery) Robertson and Rhonda (Adam) Record, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and sister Nancy Painter (the late Robert Painter).
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Norman Robertson.
Ronald, known as Ron by his friends and family, often shared fond memories of growing up fishing, playing baseball with his brother Norman, and hunting with the best dog known to man, Buster. After graduating from Richland Township High School, Ron enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He served two tours in the Artillery Division. He held the rank of Seargent when he was honorably discharged. Upon return home, he met his beautiful bride of 57 years, Elaine (Warner) Robertson. Ron worked in the warehouse at Montgomery Ward, delivered milk for Meadow Gold, and eventually “retired” as a crane operator at ALCOA. Ron always loved dogs. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Being an entrepreneur at heart and a man that couldn’t sit still for long, five years after retirement he followed through with a long- time goal of opening a dog boarding facility, R & R Pet Boarding, which he successfully owned and solely operated for ten years.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Family & Friends Funeral Home in Wingate. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Attica on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Whicker officiating.
