Ronald (Ron) was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 26, 1957, to parents Martha Scott-Perine and William Perine. He relocated to Ocala, Florida in August 2013 after building his family home there in May 2007. Ron enjoyed the peace and quiet of Ocala. He died peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Ron is survived by his loving partner and wife Myrna, who took wonderful care of him during his illness from June 2024 until his death, and his only child, Terrence, who he loved more than life itself.

Ron is also survived by his loving brother Walter, who he enjoyed daily telephone conversations with when he was well, sisters: Betty, Bonnie, Debra, Reba, Olivia, Theresa, nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law, who will all miss his cheerful, loving, lighthearted, positive, caring and extremely encouraging personality.

To know Ron, was to love him. Once encountered, he was unforgettable. Raised in a large Christian loving and supportive family by a mother, originally a schoolteacher from Arkansas and a father, who had his own construction business, originally from Alabama, he was taught to be independent, unafraid and to chart his own course in life. Ron did that by choosing to become an electrician. He enjoyed working with his hands because he witnessed his father doing the same. However, he was more than an electrician, he was a one-person construction team all by himself, which many people who benefited from his work can attest to.

Ron was also a unionist leader. He represented the CSEAC union as a delegate from Brooklyn for many years. This was one of his proudest achievements, especially standing with and helping to elect Mayor David Dinkins to be the first Black Mayor of New York City.

When he was a child, Ron loved playing baseball, which he carried into manhood, even aspiring to be a professional baseball player. He did not give up that dream before trying and realizing that he did not meet the requirements for any of the New York professional teams.

Ron did his best in everything he was a part of: loving, cheerful, supportive husband, father and family man.

You have earned it to rest in Heaven our love.

Your family.
