Ronald “Ron” Squyres, born May 20, 1959, in Monroe, Louisiana, passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 29, 2025. A faithful ambassador of God and Jesus Christ, Ron lived his life with purpose, generosity, and deep compassion for others.
Ron was the proud owner of Louisiana Contractors Licensing Service, where he helped thousands of people achieve the status of being state-licensed contractors. His patience, thoughtfulness, and care for his students were hallmarks of his work and life.
An avid traveler and reader, Ron found joy in exploring new places and familiar ones—especially when deep-sea fishing in Belize. He was a history buff, a lover of music, and a man who valued time spent at home with his beloved wife, Glenda. He was a passionate follower of Christ and supported many organizations that helped spread the Word of the Lord.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Franky and Laura Belle Peters; his mother, Sara Lee Groth; and his grandson, Gabe. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Squyres; daughters, Brooke, Britney, and Rebecca Squyres; stepchildren, Jarrod Solar (Alexandra) and Morgan Nesser (Joshua); and brother, Travis Squyres. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren—Lily Passman, Olivia Firmin, Jameson Solar, and Charlotte Solar. Ron was blessed with a special second mother, Mrs. Margie Scott, whom he loved dearly. Mak, Ron’s faithful four-legged companion, is lost without her master.
Ron will be remembered for his faith, kindness, sense of humor, and the friendships he built with people all around the world. His light continues to shine through the lives he touched.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Healing Place Church Annex, located at 19202 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7–8, KJV)
