Ronald "Ronnie" Miller, a beloved figure in his community, passed away on September 25, 2025, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, Indiana. Born on October 9, 1937, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Moin E. and Ruth (Geyer) Miller, Ronnie lived a life filled with dedication to family, hard work, and service to his country.

A proud graduate of Laketon High School in 1955, Ronnie went on to serve nearly three years in the United States Army. After returning from military service, he became an esteemed member of the American Legion Post 286 in North Manchester, demonstrating his commitment to supporting fellow veterans and the community. Other memberships included the Masonic Temple Deming Lodge in North Manchester, Mizpah Shriners, and Moose Lodge 1518 in North Manchester.

In 1961, Ronnie married Sharon Smith, a partnership that flourished over sixty-four remarkable years. Together, they raised three sons and one daughter, creating a loving family that expanded to include ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Ronnie took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his family.

Ronnie’s professional journey was marked by his extensive career at Sy's Welding and Repair, where he devoted thirty-four years before entering retirement. Following his retirement, he continued to engage with the community through his ten years of work at The Hardware Store in North Manchester, always ready to lend his skills and knowledge to those around him.

Ronnie was known as a diligent hardworking, never one to shy away from fixing things or helping others. He embraced life with a sense of purpose and was often focused on the present moment and what he could manage. His love for tinkering stayed strong until his final days, reflecting his generous spirit and willingness to share his time and expertise with anyone in need.

An ardent sports fan, Ronnie enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, though he was often disappointed, and had a particular fondness for NASCAR, particularly admiring Bill Elliott. In his younger years, he also participated in local racing events at Warsaw and Avila, showcasing his adventurous spirit and love for competition.

The loving memory of Ronnie Miller will be forever cherished by his wife, Sharon Miller, North Manchester; children, Tony (Carol) Miller, North Manchester, Terry (Amy) Miller, Marion, Tom (Christi) Miller, Kansas City, Missouri, and Tawnya (Marcus) Holloway, Fort Wayne; brother, Joe (Joan) Miller, Columbia City; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Richard Miller.

Family and friends may call Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana.
