Ronald Lee "Ron" Rowell, 79, of Commiskey, passed away at 11:19 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.

Born November 5, 1946, in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Narvel and Lucille (Baker) Rowell. He married Kristi Ivarson in the Spring of 1968 in Fresno, California; she survives.

Ron graduated from College at Chico State University in California. He served in the United States Marine Corp from April 2, 1967 - April 2, 1970. Ron worked as a State Case Manager for the mentally challenged at the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville. He enjoyed gardening, cutting firewood, being out in the woods, fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, coaching soccer and was skilled at refinishing antique furniture.

Surviving with his wife, Kristi, is a son, Matt Rowell of Crawfordsville; daughters, Jody (Jonathan) Friedman of Somerset, Kentucky and Faye (Noah Martin) Rowell of Commiskey; sisters, Carolyn Laufer and Susan (Richard) Leahigh, both of Commiskey, Constance Basham of Madison; and grandchildren, Noah Friedman and Eliana Friedman, both of Somerset, Kentucky and Sophia Rowell of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with his and his family's wishes, cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery in Commiskey. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
