Ronald Ruppen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wolfe Memorial, LLC on Sep. 29, 2025.
Ronald Coyne Ruppen, known as Ron to family and Rupe to friends, passed bravely at 69 years of age on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Pittsburgh, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

As church bells were ringing on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1956, Ron was born to Ronald B. and Eileen Ruppen. Ron's memory will live on through Renee, his beloved wife of 39 years; his two children, Daniel and Aimee; and his younger siblings Deborah (Larry) Lovejoy, Patrick Ruppen, Christopher (Kelly) Ruppen, and Jettie (Douglas) Heinle. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, a great-niece, and a great-nephew.

Ron spent much of his later career at CLASS, a non-profit organization. He found great joy and made many happy memories with his CLASS community; his family away from family. He was an active member in Boy Scout Troop 90. He also enjoyed travel, adventure, camping, and a big bonfire with a mug of Jim Beam. He loved live music, playing his guitar, and spending time with his wife and kids. Ron never met a stranger!

Friends and family will be received at Wolfe Memorial LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Wednesday, October 1, from 3 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on at St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 2001 Ardmore Blvd., Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Thursday, October 2, at 10am. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Living and Support Services (CLASS) at https://classcommunity.org/support-class/donate or consider donating blood to your local Vitalant donation center.
