Sauter, Ronald A. NEWBERRY, Fla. Ronald Allen Sauter, 74 of Newberry, Fla., passed away on December 9, 2021, in Gainesville, Fla., surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born in Albany to Robert and Dorothy Sauter on May 6, 1947. He attended Shaker High School and graduated in 1965. He moved to Florida in 1994 to enjoy a warmer climate and became an avid Gators fan. He was a dedicated mail carrier for 46 years. He retired in 2012 and was able to spend more time with his loving wife and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband and loving father who always wore a smile. He had a terrific sense of humor, an infectious laugh and a heart of gold. Ron is survived by his five children, Laurie Williams of West Sand Lake, Michael (Daniele Matice) Sauter of Averill Park, David (Lynn) Sauter of Glenville, Kristen (Craig) LaFollette of Newberry, Fla., and Julie (Jennifer) Barona of Newberry, Fla. His surviving grandchildren include Kyle, Keira, Leigh, Austin, Hannah, Amelia, Piper, Graylyn and Mackenzie. He was a loving uncle to Donna (Sam) Simmons, Wesley (Karen) Williams, Randall Williams, Craig (Melana) Williams and Amber Chaves. He has been reunited with his beloved wife of 53 years, Esther Sauter. He missed her terribly and was broken-hearted after her recent passing. They are now able to match their outfits yet again. He was also preceded in death by his mother, father and his grandbabies, Zachary and Emily Sauter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, December 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. A prayer service will take place on Saturday, December 18, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Gerry Matthews of St. Ambrose Church officiating.
