AMAZING GRACE
At times, life can throw us a major curveball and an experience that brings us to our knees. On Monday night while watching "Monday Night Football," I received a call from Roland Smith, a High School friend concerning his twin brother, Roland who had passed away, late December of 2022.
Growing up, I was nicknamed "Little Brother" starting with their late older Brother, Scooter-Boy.
To my last remaining Brother, Roland Smith and family, I've heard others say to me on occasions that God doesn't give you more than you can bear, to which my reply is, 'yes but even Jesus wept to comfort the mourning Souls of Mary and Martha over their beloved brother Lazarus.' Sometimes these initiations that God put us through might rock us to our core.
But, I say hold on to God's unchanging hand. He will come in the morning and bring Grace to all of our lives.
In those moments that you find yourself struggling, I dare you to pause and give thanks for these life lessons; the memories, the beauty, the pain and the growth because what follows is God's Amazing Grace.
Remember Roland that you're never alone, you still got another Brother up here in Connecticut, but most of all remember The Kingdom of Heaven is found within you and our loved ones are merely a thought away. They are tucked safely within our hearts and they will find their own way to come back to us in the "Still of the Night" to bring us a sign that Grace will take away all of our pain and guide us to that perfect place and peace that passes all understanding.
We can't change what has happened, but we can change how it is perceived before the eyes of God. May each of your memories become Sacred and Holy Moments that you treasure for a lifetime.
