As Ronnie's first wife we shared our young to middle age adult years together, mostly doing things that revolved around his love of fishing the lakes of Minnesota. He was always trying to teach me to love it as much as he did. On one occasion we were fishing on Lake Itaska and he was teaching me the proper way to cast from the boat. It turned into a moot point when he made his first cast and hit me in the side of the head! The look on his face was worth a million as he was deciding what the best thing was to say or do. I tried to keep a stern straight face but I burst out laughing. After that he thought it better to maybe humor me and let me keep reading my book while he enjoyed his worm drowning. It was a perfect morning after that with quiet chat and the Loons calling. I never did tell him that I had learned to fish and cast from my dad a long time ago just as he had.
