The world gets smaller and smaller. I have known Ron for most of my life, and when I was a kid, he was one of those adults I always trusted and looked up to. That's saying a lot from the perspective of a kid. I have such happy memories with your family. Although eventually years went by without crossing paths very often, Ron was always in the back of my mind because I knew he had been having some health issues. I often asked my father how he was doing. Aging hit my father pretty hard, I think mentally even more so than physically, so I had to laugh and take it with a grain of salt whenever he would say, "Oh, he don't look so good." That was my father struggling to wrap his head around the fact that he and everyone else were just slowing down. I guess he set my expectations low, though, because when I saw Ron myself after that, I thought he looked wonderful! He looked like the same old Ron to me.

I hope that they have met up again this past week, shared a cup of coffee, and marveled at the feeling of being in the prime of their lives again, because I hope that is what heaven is like.

I know how much my father appreciated Ron's constant friendship and loyalty through the years, as do I. This is a hard loss. My heart goes out to all of you.

58 years ago me and Ron met at JFK airport on our way to Vietnam. We didn' know it at the time because we never met each other before. We flew to Vietnam on the same plane. When we arrived in Vietnam we were assigned to the same platoon and same squad. 65th Combat Engr Batallion 25th Inf Division. As fate would have it we spent our whole tour (1year) together in Vietnam
We got to know each other very well Ron was a good brave man. I was proud to serve with him. We kept in touch throughout the years meeting up with Ron and Donna traveling different places. I will miss him very much and i know he is at peace in the arms of God. With all our love. Greg & Fran Kanych
