Ronald "Ron" Eugene Sowers, age 77, of North Wales, previously of Quakertown, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Born in Quakertown, PA he was a son of the late George W. and Esther (Trout) Sowers.
He graduated from Quakertown High School in 1962. He proudly served in the United States Air Force.
He loved motorcycles and was a car enthusiast. He owned a '67 Chevelle. He also enjoyed playing poker, listening to doo-wop, oldies, and all types of music. He never watched TV. Ron was an avid collector of unique designer hats. Whenever he gathered with family or friends he wore a different stylish hat.
He was a generous contributor to many organizations, such as Wounded Warriors and Cancer Research.
Ron worked at Merck for over 50 years. He enjoyed going to work. It was his social and extended family outlet. One of his favorite ways to keep people smiling was to add words of wisdom on the white board. His intent on the day he retired was to write; "Ron has left the building". A no frills retirement was what he wanted.
Surviving are sisters Charlene Barton and Carol Wackerman. He was predeceased by siblings Jane Meyers, George Sowers, Stan Sowers, and Doris Ziegler.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wackerman household (2100 Umbreit Rd, Quakertown) on December 5th from 2pm-8pm. Event will be catered. Bring your pictures, love, and appetite. All friends and family are invited.
Arrangements are by Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service of Quakertown (215-536-3343). Condolences may be made at www.nauglefcs.com.

Sad to recently learn of "Uncle" Ron's passing. Met him a few times at multiple family gathering at his (nephew's house). He was quite the character and I looked forward to seeing and speaking with him every time. I will always remember his nephew calling him SOWERS!!! Rest in Peace and please look after Andrew.
