Ronald Jay “Ron” Spike, 53 of rural Jefferson, South Dakota passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at his home, comforted by family following kidney Cancer of two years. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Jefferson Community Center from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and the family requests casual attire. Refreshments will be available, however, guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Interment will be at a later date. Ron was born on February 28, 1972 at St. Vincent Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa to Ronald and Ginger (Palmer) Spike. He graduated from Kingsley Pierson with the Class of 1990. Ron worked at Rocket Car Detail directly after high school graduation until he was in his mid-twenties. Ron married Heidi Hope on August 31, 2002, to which union, son Colton and daughter Carlee where born. Ron started, and ran Siouxland Dent from then until his illness caused his early retirement. He married Angela Behrendsen on March 29, 2023 at the Elk Point Court House.
Ron enjoyed camping and fishing at Platte, South Dakota, spending time with friends at Bud’s Bar in Jefferson, South Dakota, golfing anytime he could, including playing in tournaments. He enjoyed playing men’s softball league in his younger years but found his greatest joy spending time with friends and family.
Ron is survived by his parents, wife Angela Spike, son Colton Spike, daughter Carlee Spike, stepdaughters Addison Henry, Amari Henry, and Alex Behrendsen.
