I did not know Ron that well, but I worked with him at GFC Financial Corporation legal department in the early 1980s. He was an excellent attorney who, it seemed to me, never stopped working.... On November 20, 1983 (I checked my logbook) he flew with me in my open cockpit Great Lakes Biplane out of Chandler Municipal Airport. We just did some basic aerobatics; loops, roles and some spins. Ron actually brought paperwork with him. To this day I do not know how you do paperwork -- or any work -- in an open cockpit airplane. This is just a small memory of a good guy. After he left GFC I'd run into him from time to time in the gym, and we'd talk for a few minutes, before I moved out of the area.

I had the pleasure of working with Ron as a fellow Marine on the Secretary of the Navy's staff in the White House Liaison Office. I'm sorry to learn of his passing, which was noted in the current issue of the Naval Academy's Shipmate magazine. Ron was a great help to me when I reported to the staff. I have always appreciated his calm presence and his profound intellect. He was miles ahead of me in his careful writing technique and I learned many things about staff work from him. Semper Fi, Ron. You are well remembered. Jim Webb

So many memories, Ron, that we have of our times together. Our New Year's Eve dinners and shows; parties with the Moon Valley gang; Men's Club Las Vegas Nights (and the scotch-driven cleanups into the wee hours of the morning); our Saturday morning breakfasts; Zoom card games during the pandemic...all celebrated with a healthy dose of love and laughter. We'll miss all of these, but most of all, we'll miss you! You were such an incredible friend, husband, father and grandfather (Bubba?!). We were so blessed to have you in our lives for some 40 years. We look forward to seeing you again on the other side.
Love you,
Julie and Marty Laurel
