Ronald "Poke" L. Stone
Detroit - Ronald L. "Poke" Stone, 67 of Detroit passed away Friday evening, November. 28, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long six-year battle with COPD. He was born, July 13, 1958, in White Hall, the son of John and Beverly Sue Ballard Stone. He married the former Cyndi Howard, May 6, 1995, in Las Vegas, NV.
Surviving is wife, Cyndi; children, Thomas Stone of Jacksonville, Jennifer Howland of Springfield, Beverly Stone of Petersburg and Eileen (Kenny) Green of Greenview; grandchildren, Jebediah Gage Miller of Perry, Mya Coultas of Springfield, and Asher Green of Greenview; great-grandchildren, Jebediah Gene Miller and Elza Jane Miller; siblings, Gerald "Jerry" (Pam) Stone of Jerseyville, Weldon "Chief" (Pam) Stone of Beardstown, Karen "Sissy" Pilkington of Chester, Lila "Toots" Bratsch of Jacksonville and special friends, Betty and Fred Still of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eldon 'Squeak" Stone and sister, Jenny Jo Boltehouse.
Poke enjoyed working in his shed and fishing. He was an Army veteran and was employed as a mechanic/heavy equipment operator for UCM.
A visitation will be held 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Daws Family Funeral Home in Winchester. Memorials are suggested to Manchester Cemetery.
