Ronald Swintek Obituary

DELAND - Ronald Walter Swintek, 78, passed away peacefully May 13, 2023, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bernice Swintek, his brother Roland and sister Lynelle.
Ron graduated from Brother Rice High School in Chicago in 1962. He went on to study automotive engineering at the General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.
Ron moved to Florida in 1972 with his wife Janet "Jan." They lived in the Port Orange area for 18 years, before settling down in DeLand in 1989.
Ron worked in the automotive industry spanning well over 50 years, first as a general mechanic and service writer, then going on to sales, and ultimately rising to executive manager of several Central Florida automotive dealerships.
In 2001, Ron teamed up with close friend Paul Montgomery to open Reliable Used Cars in DeLand.
Ron was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, golfing and scuba diving. He also passionately followed his Chicago sports teams, and was an avid supporter and fan of Stetson University athletics.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jan; sons Ron (Christy) and Dan (Johni); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Halifax Health Hospice.

I am so sorry to her about your husband! I have so many questions. I have been trying to locate you for some time and Jim has even ask about you. I would love to have your address. My husband has stage 4 cancer in both lungs since last Oct. You will be in my prayers. Please later when things calm down please send me your address or call me at 386-212-5845.
