Ronald S. Truelove

MUNCIE – Ronald S. Truelove, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 27, 2026 at his home.

He was born on March 13, 1952 in Baldur, Manitoba, Canada, the son of Kenneth and Racine P. (Stewart) Truelove. He proudly became a citizen of the United States of America in 1986. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and his Master's Degree in Psychology from Ball State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Ronald was a Psychology professor at Ball State University for many years until his retirement in 2021. He was dedicated to his students and they were very important to him, and in return he was adored by them and was voted best teacher several times in his career. He taught his children as well as his students the importance of critical thinking and not blindly following authority. He was an avid reader and believed in life long learning. Ronald had a great sense of humor, and had no problem acting silly to make his children laugh. His faith was also very important to him and he was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over 50 years.

In his younger years, he was an avid bowler and a beloved high school football coach for many years. He proudly cheered on his children in their various activities, often loudly and with dramatic gestures, much to the chagrin of his teenaged children. He was a lifelong lover of music, especially Bon Jovi, attending numerous concerts over the years with and without his children and even got the chance to meet Jon Bon Jovi in person.

Surviving are five children, Shanna Camacho, Chad Truelove, Audra Truelove, Ammon Truelove and Tana Wagschal; four grandchildren, Ryan Camacho, Kate Camacho, Kasen Ette and Lucas Ette; one sister, Lorrie Truelove; and the mother of his children, Sheila Truelove.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert Truelove.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4800 Robinwood Drive, Muncie, with Bishop Thad Hymas officiating. All are welcome. Private burial will be held at Beech Grove Cemetery.
