Ronald Deane VanderMeer

VanderMeer, Ronald Deane - age 73, of Holly, died December 11, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 22, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday, December 21, 2023 and 10 AM - 11 AM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Endowment for the Arts (https://www.arts.gov/). Ronald was born October 19, 1950 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of John and Louise (Underkercher) VanderMeer. Ronald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Vietnam War. He was an HVAC trainer and instructor with Cochran Supply and Macomb Community College. Ronald was also involved in part-time ministry with Emmanuel Church in Oxford. Surviving are: four children, Kate Forehand, Ronald VanderMeer, Elizabeth (Michael) Frederick, and Emily (Jason) Lilly; six grandchildren, Michael and Zim Forehand, Elten and Myren Frederick, Micah & Mackenzie Lilly; sibling, Terry VanderMeer; best friend, Barb Theurer; mother of his children, Kay VanderMeer; beloved friend, Beacon.
