Ronald Walton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caring Cremations - Chicago on Mar. 6, 2024.
Ronald "Ron" Walton, a beacon of generosity and unwavering faith, left this world on March 1, 2024, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on May 12, 1949 to the union of Fred and Pearly Walton, in the heart of Chicago, IL, Ron's journey began as a child full of curiosity and kindness, characteristics that would define his entire life.
Preceding him in death are parents Fred Walton Sr. and Pearly Walton; brothers Clifton, Robert Lee, Michael and Gary; sisters Nancy, Jeanetta and Judy.
Ron's early education at Yale Elementary School and Parker High School laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to community service. His dedication to helping others shone brightly throughout his career as a Caseworker for the Illinois Department of Human Services, where he retired after 28 years of compassionate service. Ron was not only a champion for the less fortunate but also a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country with the same honor and integrity he carried through all aspects of his life.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Ron was a man of many interests. He had a passion for the arts, finding solace and expression in writing poetry. His love for dancing was infectious, often being the first to get up and the last to sit down at any gathering. Fishing provided him with peaceful moments of reflection, further nurturing his thoughtful nature.
Those who knew Ron best would describe him as a generous soul, always putting others before himself. His faith-filled life was an inspiration, guiding him through the trials and triumphs with unwavering grace. To be in Ron's presence was to feel seen and valued, a testament to his empathetic spirit.
Ron was a devoted family man, cherishing his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. His love story with Annette Daval-Walton was one of true partnership and mutual respect. He embraced the role of a loving parent, nurturing his family that includes children Paul Daval, Chanay Walton, Lakeesha Winston, Ebony Winston, and bonus daughter Erica Winston. Ron was a pillar of strength and love for his grandchildren Caleb Bailey, Armon Bailey, Amirah Daval, Omar Daval, Quentin Robinson, Qaylen Robinson, Qallie Robinson, Ajinai Scurry, Aubreana Scurry and Deijah Garcia. He also leaves to cherish his memory, brothers Fred Walton Jr., Wilson Walton, Larry C. Walton; sisters Lura Hayes, Yvonne Day, Linda (Walter) Thomas, Sergenet Walton-Head; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
As we bid farewell to Ronald Walton, we remember a man who lived a life brimming with love, service, and creativity. His legacy of kindness and dedication to his family will continue to ripple through the lives he touched. Ron's memory will be cherished and honored by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He has left us with an indelible mark of what it means to live a life of purpose and heart.
Ron's journey on this earth has concluded, but the stories of his generosity, his laughter, and his deep love for his family will be recounted for generations. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life of a man who was truly a gift to us all.
Rest in peace, Ron; your spirit lives on in the many lives you've enriched.

Although it´s been a year since the passing of this husband, father, sibling , grandfather and co worker he´s still so deeply missing. Some say that time heals all wounds but that´s not true. So pain never ends. It tends to live on forever. Dear Family continue to be strong. Be encouraged! My condolences to you once again. Billie Tyler- Kirksey

My condolences to you the family friends and former colleagues of Mr. Ronald Walton. I had the pleasure of working with him at the Northwest Local Office for several years until he retired. He was very knowledgeable about the work we did. He was very helpful to any who needed help. He also had a smile on his face. Sincerely Billie Tyler-Kirksey
