Ronald Waye Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Funerals by T. S. Warden - Jacksonville on Dec. 29, 2025.
Ronald Waye was born to Johnnie and Celestine Robinson-Waye December 13, 1948 in Jacksonville, FL. At an early age, Ronald accepted Christ at Greater Payne AME Church. Ronald attended Matthew W. Gilbert High School, Class of 1966. Upon graduation, Ronald joined the US Army obtaining his rank of Sargent. Ronald received his education at Jones College.

Ronald was employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield and retired after 30 years of service.

Ronald later met and married Debra Randolph in Panama City, FL March 1, 1986. From this union, Ronald and Debra had 2 sons and 1 daughter. Ronald peacefully departed this life on Friday, December 26, 2025 and was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie and Celestine Waye, father in law Dan Randolph, Jr., and sister in law Danette Robinson (Leamon).

Ronald was active in the church holding offices until his health was compromised. Ronald was a member of the Trustee Board, Arthur S. King Lay Organization, Men of Allen, Sons of Thunder, The Celestine Waye Mass Choir, Parking Lot Security, Class Leaders Council, and ICARE. He was a member of SHAD Club 20 of Eta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated Nu Chapter.

Ronald loved to make people laugh. He really could have been a stand-up comedian. His jokes reminded you of Redd Foxx. Ronald loved watching Pit Masters and Moonshiners. He got others to watch Moonshiners so he could have someone to talk about the show with him. Ronald had the best memories. He could talk to you for hours about everything. He shared a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. Ronald never missed an Atlanta trip. He loved going to hang out with his brother in law. He made sure Atlanta was his last ride for Thanksgiving 2025.

Ronald was reunited in eternal rest with beloved friends: cousin/brother Jerry "Juicy" Richardson, "Coach" Cula Jackson, and Samuel Davis.

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Debra Waye; daughter, Kenya Randolph; sons: Kevin Randolph (Zanetta) and Ronald M. Waye (Jasmin); 3 sisters: Rosalind Brown, Gwendolyn Garvin, and Anita Waye; 2 brothers: Eric Waye (Sonya) and Greg Cummings (Karen); 4 grandboys, Kevin Jr, Ronald II, Kaden and Aiden; Godchildren: Darron Davis and Tatyanna Carter; He was a father figure to his nephew Brian Waye (Lorri). He also leaves his special friends: Alphonso West, Roscoe Thorpe, Maurice "Blankie" Jones, Claude Scates and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
