Ronald Wehrer Obituary

Ronald Charles Wehrer, 81, of Burgettstown, Cross Creek Township, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 23, 2025, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 17, 1943, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Ellis and Stella Skrinjaric Wehrer. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961, he served in the United States Army from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War before earning his degree from West Liberty University. While a student at West Liberty University, he met his wife, Shelly Ann Petricca Wehrer, and they were married March 9, 1968. She preceded him in death September 18, 2023. In 1968 they founded, and together operated Wehrer Enterprises. He is survived by his three children, Jill A. Gribbin of Greensburg, Greg Wehrer and wife Kelly of Houston, Texas, and Erin B. Wehrer of Cross Creek; seven grandchildren, Rachel Gribbin Salyers and husband Dr. Josh Salyers, M.D., Beau Gribbin, Austin Gribbin and wife Erin, Ellis and Silvia Wehrer, Trevor Abate and Haley Russell; two great-granddaughters, Kinsley Abate and Lyla Salyers. To honor Mr. Wehrer's wishes, services, with military honors, and interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville were held privately under the direction of Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
