Ronnie G. Denniston, age 79 of Mt.Orab, Ohio passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born July 16, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Gilbert Vermont and Mae (Reed) Denniston. Ronnie retired from General Motors and after retirement, he remained active, contributing greatly to the lives of those around him. He drove a school bus for Hamersville and Western Brown Schools and he assisted his son-in-law at Malicote Construction, always finding ways to keep busy and engaged. Ronnie's spirit of service was evident in his commitment to his community. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Mt. Orab Fire Department for several years and was a proud member of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge F&AM #72. Additionally, he was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Felicity, Ohio, where he served as a Deacon since 1998. In his leisure time, Ronnie enjoyed reading his Bible, traveling with his family and listening to music. A true “foodie,” he delighted in exploring new restaurants and savoring delicious meals. Above all, Ronnie cherished his family; they were his world, his joy and his happy place. His legacy of kindness and dedication will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a lasting impact on his community and a loving family that will carry his memory with them always. Besides his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters – Harold Shafer, Larry (Eva) Shafer, Ralph (Kathryn) Shafer, Paul (Jean) Denniston, Charles (Marcie) Denniston, Carolyn Jean Denniston and Dottie (Cecil) Hurst and four fur babies – Binkie, Tobie, Baby and Patches.
Mr. Denniston is survived by his loving wife of 61 years – Penny (Lawson) Denniston whom he married November 14, 1964; two daughters – Tammie J. Malicote and husband Mark of Loveland, Ohio and Rhonda G. Malicote and husband Scott of Hamersville, Ohio; four grandchildren – Nicholas Talley of Batavia, Ohio, Amanda Malicote of Loveland, Ohio, Nichole Shaw and husband Brandon of Mt.Orab, Ohio and Lacey Kuntz and husband Bobby of Hamersville, Ohio; eight great grandchildren – Izzy Talley, Mackenzie, Shelby and Hunter Franklin, Brayden Dane Shaw and Lucian, Lennon and Layton Kuntz and one sister – Helen Schwarber of Mt.Orab, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Pastor Steve Seikbert will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. with Masonic Rites Services at 11:45 A.M. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio.
