Ronnie Fisher, 76, of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 6, 2025. He was born on May 29, 1949 to the late Obie S. Fisher and Evelyn Chandler Fisher.
A 1967 graduate of Brevard High School, Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972. Following his military service, he began a long and successful career at DuPont, where he worked faithfully from 1972 until his retirement in 2000.
Ronnie had a deep love for the outdoors. He was happiest when hunting, fishing, or target shooting in the mountains he called home and was known for his extensive gun collection and sharp knowledge of firearms. For many years, he could also be found on local ball fields, umpiring baseball and softball games - a role he cherished for the joy it brought him, young athletes and their families.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by one sister Jean Griffiths of Concord, his wife, Gwendolyn Bentley Fisher of Brevard; his son, Frank Fisher and wife Tricia of Jacksonville, NC; his daughter, Sara Wilson and husband Brandon of Waynesville, NC; and his four grandchildren, Cooper and Bentley Fisher and Daisy and Anna Wilson, all of whom were the light of his life.
Ronnie will be laid to rest at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery in Brevard where a private graveside service will be held on Thursday November 13, 2025
