Mr. Ronnie Jerome Ray, age 76, of Villa Rica passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born in Bremen, Georgia on May 3, 1949. Mr. Ray was the son of the late, Roy Conway Ray and the late, Clarice Beatrice (Clay) Ray. In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by his sister, Rosalind Regina Toliver.

Raised in the Buncombe community of Haralson County, Ronnie was a proud graduate from Haralson County High School, Class of 1968. During his time in school, many will remember him as an outstanding basketball player for the West Haralson High School Tigers. After graduation Ronnie attended Carroll Technical College, earning his Electrician Certification. Ronnie would go on to work as an Electrician for Southwire for over 32 years, then Bucks Electric, and retiring from West Georgia Electric after many years of service. Outside of his professional life, Ronnie found joy in the outdoors, particularly through deer, turkey, and bow hunting. He also enjoyed golfing, especially for competition. In his younger years, he was an active member of the Little Tallapoosa Bowman's Association. Ronnie was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and enjoyed rooting for them any chance he got. Mr. Ray had a servant’s heart and often volunteered at the Manna House Food Pantry Carrollton. As an active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Carrollton, Ronnie often expressed his faith through his love of singing and worship. Ronnie's greatest joy came from his family, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 56 years, Gale (Hilley) Ray of Villa Rica; his daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Rickey Brockwell of Bremen and Amanda and John Lingerfelt of Carrollton; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jeananne Ray of Carrollton; his grandchildren, Gracie Ray and Emily Ray. Additionally, he is survived by his nephew, Shannon Ray, nieces Tamara Ray, Julie Mashburn, and numerous extended family members, friends, and his cherished “grand dog,” Eddie.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 3 P.M. from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Carrollton with Bishop Jeff Maxwell and Pastor Murphy Hagan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, prior to the service, from 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Shannon Ray, Marc York, John Lingerfelt, Chet Mashburn, Johnny Crumpton, and Alan Skaggs serving as pallbearers and Gary Ray, Gary Hilley, and Rickey Brockwell serving as honorary pallbearers.
