Roosevelt Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapel Memorial Funeral Home - Waterbury on Feb. 16, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Roosevelt Lee Jr., 68 of Danbury, Connecticut, on Saturday, February 7, 2026. His departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Roosevelt was born on January 31, 1958, in Thomaston, Alabama, to the late Roosevelt and Lillian (Leshure) Lee Sr.

From humble beginnings, he grew into a man defined by integrity, strength, compassion, and quiet determination. A proud graduate of Danbury High School, Roosevelt carried with him a deep sense of pride for his community and lifelong friendships formed along the way. He answered the call to serve his country with honor in the United States Army, embodying courage and commitment in every sense of the word. His military service reflected his steadfast character and unwavering dedication to something greater than himself.

After his honorable service, Roosevelt continued his education at Western Connecticut University, demonstrating his belief in growth, knowledge, and perseverance. He later devoted part of his career to working as a mail carrier, a role through which he became a familiar and friendly presence to many. Whether delivering mail or simply offering a warm greeting, he made lasting impressions through small acts of kindness and reliability. Roosevelt will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for family, and the quiet strength that carried him through life's joys and challenges. He had a steady spirit, a generous heart, and a way of making those around him feel seen and valued.

Though his passing was sudden, the legacy he leaves behind is enduring - one of service, dedication, and love. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey. May he rest in eternal peace.
